President and CEO of Borong Co., Ltd.
I make my way deep into the mountains, and with ink and washi paper, I capture the form and pattern of newborn water as it comes down along the valleys.
For 38 years, I have kept company with water, and have been able to capture the forms of its many water spirits. I call this "Ryusuimon."
Newborn waters overflow with boundless vital energy, flowing toward the sea while giving the power to live to every living thing.
For 3.5 billion years, water has traveled back and forth between the earth and the sky, completing the journey in about seven days.
During that time, water remembers everything that has happened around the earth, and fragments of that deeply imprinted memory appear as patterns within its flow and movement.
"Ryusuimon" can resemble the patterns of stone, the growth of plants, or the movement of animals.
The flow of time is the succession of life, and the changing of matter. That process of change can be seen within "Ryusuimon,"
and I believe that the patterns created by water may be the very expression of the flow of time.
